Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 17, 2026
At GoLocalPDF, privacy is not a marketing catchphrase—it is our core architecture. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you visit GoLocalPDF.com.
1. The Core Principle: Localized Processing
Unlike traditional cloud conversion platforms, GoLocalPDF runs its standard utility tools 100% locally inside your browser's sandbox environment.
Zero Server Uploads: When you perform standard operations (such as metadata removal, local extraction, or localized translation), your PDF files never leave your machine and are never sent to our servers.
Verification: You can verify this at any time by opening your browser's Developer Tools Network tab, disconnecting your internet connection, and running the tools fully offline.
2. Information We Do Collect
To operate our website infrastructure and subscription billing, we collect minimal operational data:
- Account Information: If you register an account, we store your email address and basic profile data.
- Payment Information: All credit card processing and subscription billing are securely handled by our third-party payment gateway (Stripe). GoLocalPDF never sees or stores your raw financial information.
- Usage Telemetry: We collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (e.g., which tools are launched) to optimize our local runtime scripts. No document content is ever included in this telemetry.
3. Hybrid Cloud Operations & Third-Party APIs
When you explicitly select our Cloud Intelligent Mode for high-context AI translation or advanced features without providing your own API key:
- Text fragments from your document are securely transmitted via encrypted HTTPS channels directly to upstream AI providers (such as OpenAI or Google Gemini) solely to execute the computation.
- We configure these API pipes strictly to ensure your data is not used for AI model training and is deleted immediately post-execution according to enterprise privacy compliance rules.
4. Local Storage and Credentials
If you use the "Bring Your Own Key" (BYOK) mode, your custom API keys are saved exclusively inside your browser's encrypted local storage (localStorage). They are queried locally by your client runtime and are completely invisible to our team.
5. Data Security
We employ industry-standard security protocols to protect your operational account data. However, because your file data remains on your personal machine, you are responsible for maintaining the physical and operational security of your device.
6. Contact and Updates
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect technical or regulatory changes. Any updates will be posted directly on this page.
